Bella Anne’s Treasure

Sub-heading title

Growing up, I always tried to be creative and thrifty. I loved my grandmother’s treasures and the stories each one had to tell. By repurposing, I could always find a way to use everything she gave me while still preserving its history. So, my goal became finding and repurposing treasures while keeping their stories alive. I would go to estate sales, thrift stores and auctions to find unique pieces. Then I would repurpose, repaint or “redo” to bring them back to life. By doing this, I learned that I could redecorate my home more often for a fraction of the cost. My friends would ask me to find them things or repurpose what they had. I was living the dream. In the Fall of 2019, I lost my beloved white Labrador retriever, Bella Anne. She was always by my side, laughed at all my jokes and gave unconditional love. What a treasure she was. In January 2020, I followed my dream and started a business in her honor… Bella Anne’s Treasures. I still “hunt” about anywhere to find unique treasures that are new, or can be repurposed, repainted or “redone” so you too can redecorate anytime you want…at a fraction of the cost.

Welcome to From the Farm Wood Creations, where craftsmanship meets heritage. As a family-owned venture, we pride ourselves on breathing new life into reclaimed wood, crafting bespoke furniture, home goods, and lighting for both residential and commercial spaces. At From the Farm Wood Creations, every piece tells a story. Founded by Phil and Pam Wirth along with their daughter Nikki, our business is a labor of love. Phil's creative vision and meticulous craftsmanship are evident in each handcrafted creation that leaves our workshop. We source our reclaimed wood from the historic farms of South Dakota and Nebraska, ensuring that each piece carries a unique tale of its own. Whether it's from a weathered barn, a sturdy granary, or an old homestead, our materials are steeped in history, ready to be transformed into timeless pieces of furniture and decor. Nestled on our family farm in southeast South Dakota, our workshop is housed within a converted dairy barn. Here, amidst the rustic charm of our surroundings, we breathe new life into forgotten wood, blending traditional techniques with modern design sensibilities. At From the Farm Wood Creations, we invite you to experience the beauty of reclaimed wood, crafted with care and passion.

Cozy by Joani

I retired from nursing after 41 years of caring for patients in both hospital and clinic settings, with most of my career focused on pediatrics and maternal-child health. My last job was in a family medicine clinic. I am married with three children and six granddaughters, all of whom I absolutely adore. In late 2020, at the height of the pandemic, I decided to take early retirement. Being home every day made me quickly realize I needed a hobby to fill my time. My mother, a talented knitter, had taught me the basics of knitting when I was young, and a college roommate introduced me to crochet. I decided to relearn these crafts, and with the help of online tutorials, I began creating blankets. Initially, I gifted much of my work to family and friends, but when I ran out of recipients, I started selling my creations on Facebook Marketplace. From there, my small business grew. I love challenging myself with new projects, exploring different stitches, and constantly learning. I am thrilled about the opportunity to join Makers Exchange and share my passion for fiber arts with a wider community. Thanks! Joani Dybsetter
