Bella Anne’s Treasure

Sub-heading title

Growing up, I always tried to be creative and thrifty. I loved my grandmother’s treasures and the stories each one had to tell. By repurposing, I could always find a way to use everything she gave me while still preserving its history. So, my goal became finding and repurposing treasures while keeping their stories alive. I would go to estate sales, thrift stores and auctions to find unique pieces. Then I would repurpose, repaint or “redo” to bring them back to life. By doing this, I learned that I could redecorate my home more often for a fraction of the cost. My friends would ask me to find them things or repurpose what they had. I was living the dream. In the Fall of 2019, I lost my beloved white Labrador retriever, Bella Anne. She was always by my side, laughed at all my jokes and gave unconditional love. What a treasure she was. In January 2020, I followed my dream and started a business in her honor… Bella Anne’s Treasures. I still “hunt” about anywhere to find unique treasures that are new, or can be repurposed, repainted or “redone” so you too can redecorate anytime you want…at a fraction of the cost.

My name is Katie, I am the owner and designer for Brick House Creations. I established Brick House Creations in 2011 as a hobby business and since have expanded into a full time career, handcrafting items for shops, art festivals and my Etsy Shop. I specialize in unique, mixed media jewelry and accessories…but that doesn’t stop there! My creative spirit has led me to grow my business to include a kids line, various hat styles, items for your home, and even a found item or two from my love for all things vintage. I am passionate about quality, affordablity and service, and strive to make those one of a kind pieces you can’t live without! Many items are one of a kind and might not be able to be made again. Each jewelry item is made with unique findings that are lead and nickel free. Everything is made by Me in my in home studio in Sioux Falls. I am blessed to live out my passion of creating in my Hometown with my beautiful girlies, husband and our doodle! It is a joy to be one of the vendors here at Makers Exchange. Kai Rose and Co.

Sub-heading title

Kai Rose was started by owners Haley Brown and Paige Theel with the help of their husbands Riley Theel and Derek Brown. The true passion and story behind Kai Rose starts with Riley and Paige's first born son Kai Riley Theel. Kai was a perfect little boy that was constantly smiling and always happy. He was a completely healthy little boy, but around 5 months of age Kai was taken in for an ear infection. Within the blink of an eye Kai was inpatient as his illness continued to get worse, and was suddenly in pediatric intensive care with Bacterial Meningitis. Unfortunately Kai's condition only worsened and he passed away a couple of days later. With a drive to want to remember Kai, the Brown and Theel families came together with numerous ideas. Paige and Haley have always had a passion for fashion, especially in baby and kids clothing, and from there the concept of Kai Rose and Co flourished. The "rose" portion of Kai Rose stems from Kai's birth flower being a rose, and is incorporated in their logo. Kai Rose is boutique that mainly focuses on gender neutral baby and kids clothing, but also supports a line of adult clothing as well. With a strong desire to help others that have gone through the unimaginable pain of losing a child, Kai Rose donates a portion of all of their original Kai Rose product sales back to organizations that support infant and child loss. The Brown and Theel families each have 3 children of their own now, and having a boutique that provides affordable options for kids clothing continues to push this dream forward.
